This is a list of organisations which may be of general interest to lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender people. Centred is a community organisation run by diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ) people. Their work focuses on diverse LGBTQ experiences, especially where these issues intersect with experiences concerning race, gender, disability, deafness, age and minority faith.
LGBT Consortium lists national LGBT voluntary and community organisations.
Stonewall work to empower LGBT people to be their authentic selves, enabling them to realise and achieve their full potential, and we empower LGBT people and allies to create positive change. They work with institutions to create inclusive and accepting cultures, to ensure institutions understand and value the huge benefits brought to them by LGBT people, and to empower institutions as advocates and agents of positive change.
The UK Lesbian & Gay Immigration Group supports LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system. Their vision is a world where there is equality, dignity, respect and safety for all people in the expression of their sexual or gender identity.
London LGBT+ Forums
forum+ is an independent charity working to improve the lives of LGBT in Camden, Islington and the surrounding boroughs. They aim to promote equality and diversity by the elimination of discrimination in relation to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people living, working, socialising and/or studying in Camden and Islington and, where appropriate, neighbouring boroughs and London.
The Wandsworth, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Forum was set up to improve the lives of LGBT people living, working and studying in Wandsworth.
Beaumont Society is an association to facilitate mutual support and communication in order to improve the health, emotional well-being and confidence of transgender people.
CliniQ are an holistic sexual health and well-being service for all trans people, partners and friends. They are a trans-led team, who offer a safe, confidential space for those who may not feel comfortable accessing mainstream services.
Depend offer free, confidential and non-judgmental advice, information and support to all family members, spouses, partners and friends of trans people.
FTM London provide information on topics of interest to female-to-male (FTM, F2M) trans men, and their friends, family, colleagues and professionals. This means that transgender, cisgender, intersex, non-binary, genderqueer, questioning, are particularly welcome along with everyone else.
Gendered Intelligence provide UK-wide workshops and awareness training for and about young trans people.
Mermaids work to raise awareness about gender nonconformity in children and young people among professionals and the general public.
Press For Change are an educational organisation for trans people throughout the UK.
Trans Unite list local or online support groups for trans & non-binary people, partners and parents.
Bi.org serve the world bisexual community.
Bi Community News is the website of the UK bisexual community.
Bi Survivors Network are a support network for bisexual people and run bi-weekly virtual chats where bi survivors can find support, solidarity, and community.
Opening Doors London (ODL) is the biggest charity providing information and support services specifically for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT+) people over 50 in the UK.
UK Older Lesbians is a safe space for older lesbians to discuss interests and meet new friends.
Regard is a national organisation of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ) who self-identify as disabled.
Imaan is a social support group for LGBT Muslims, their friends, families and supporters, and those questioning their sexuality or gender identity.
Jewish Gay and Lesbian Group is a friendship and support for Jewish gays, lesbians, bisexuals and their partners.
Quest is a group for lesbian and gay Catholics.
Black & Minority Ethnic
LYC London is a social, support and badminton group for LGBT people.
The Naz Project provides sexual health and HIV prevention and support services to targeted Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in London.
Imkaan is a UK-based, Black feminist organisation. They are dedicated to addressing violence against Black and minoritised women and girls i.e. women and girls which are defined in policy terms as Black and ‘Minority Ethnic’ (BME).
Metro Centre offers services and support to LGBT people in the borough of Greenwich.
Positive East offer practical and emotional support for people living with and affected by HIV.
Terence Higgins Trust provides services for those affected by HIV and AIDS, and campaigns for better public understanding of the issues.
