Patrons - Cyril Nri
Cyril Nri is an actor, writer, director, filmmaker, and father. He came to England from Nigeria as a young child, escaping the Nigerian-Biafran civil war.
He has worked as an actor for 23 years starting at the Royal Shakespeare Company. His TV work includes 'This Life', 'EastEnders', 'Family Affairs' and 'Arabian Nights'. Film appearances include Bernardo Bertolluci’s 'Besieged', David Hare’s 'Strapless', and 'Long Time Dead'.
Cyril's first film as a director, writer and producer, 'Constance', won awards at many international festivals, including the Best Screenplay award at the 1st Black Filmmaker International Festival of 1998. 'Constance' was later bought and screened by Channel 4.
He currently plays the role of Superintendent Adam Okaro in ITV’s long running police series 'The Bill'.
