Living London Meeting

Galop and Stonewall Housing held a very well attended event at Islington Town Hall on 24 February, as part of LGBT History Month, at which they launched Living London – a groundbreaking oral history project which examines the history of housing and policing for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people in London over the last twenty-five years – viewed thorough these two community organisations.

The website is now live at and it provides a fascinating resource based around interviews with 38 people who have been involved in some way with the two organisations – as activists, volunteers, management committee members, staff or clients.

Audio clips are available to listen to on the site and full transcripts of all interviews are available to view, as well a time-line of key events for both organisations and the LGBT community over 25 years.

A schools resource will also be added in the future.
