Galop is run by a Management Committee who meet approximately every six weeks. The Committee is the decision-making body responsible for strategic planning, and for formulating the policies, goals and direction of Galop.
Co-Chair: Dorothea Gartland is a barrister and has been on the Management Committee since 2007.
Co-Chair: Antony Heaven is a Director of HR for a drug and alcohol treatment and advice charity and has been on the Management Committee since 2012
Since arriving in London (from Manchester) in October 2002 Nicola has been an active member of the LGBT community. In both a voluntary capacity and as a staff member she has undertaken work for: Kairos in Soho, the Metro Centre and here at Galop as a Trustee. Nicola is currently Director at Off Centre a charity that supports vulnerable young people in Hackney.
James Rowlands is a Qualified Social Worker and an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA). He has extensive experience in the domestic abuse sector, including work with both survivors and perpetrators. His particular area of expertise is domestic abuse as it affects the LGBT communities and heterosexual men. James is the Quality Assurance Manager for a national domestic abuse charity and is studying for an MSc in Gender, Sexuality and Culture.
