Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week

This week is the first ever UK Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week, which aims to raise awareness and understanding about these issues and how to get help.

We know sexual abuse and assault happen to LGB&T people. Galop’s Sexual Assault Casework Service has been running for 10 years, working with people in London and beyond who have experienced sexual assault, however and whenever it happened. Our service gives people a safe, confidential space to talk, think through options, find help, get advocacy if you need it and engage with the criminal justice system, if that’s what you want. It’s a place which understands about LGB&T identities and lives, where you don’t have to explain who you are or the context of what’s happened or the impact for you. We work with all LGB&T people aged 13+, we’re friendly and inclusive, and we’ve got particular expertise about issues affecting trans people and related to chemsex.
