What’s Happening

“Nothing About Me Without Me”

We’re hosting a series of discussions to explore some of the issues around transphobia, the availability (or not) of trans friendly services, and how the world you live in impacts upon your life. We will use what you say to shape how Galop works with all trans people in the future, to campaign for change and influence other organisations to better meet your needs. We want you to tell us what you think.

There will be a mixture of themed sessions (open to all trans spectrum people) and closed sessions aimed at specific groups of  trans spectrum people (youth, BME, asylum seekers and refugees). We have chosen to split the discussions in this way because we want to make safer spaces for people who identify in certain ways to participate in the discussions, and to further explore the differences (in terms of experiences and therefore needs) amongst trans spectrum people.

You will be reimbursed for your time.

When are the sessions?

Saturday 20th June, (1.30 – 5)  Transphobia – Themed group: open for all
Tues 23rd June (6.30 – 9) Trans Youth (16-25)
Sat 11th July (1.30-5)  Accessing Services: Themed group: open for all
Tuesday 21st July (2- 4.30) Trans Asylum Seekers and Refugees
Thursday 6th August (6.30 – 9) BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) Trans people
