Quiz Night Success

The winning team: 'A Kiwi & Three Fruits'

Galop’s Great Austerity-Busting Quiz fundraiser was a roaring success and raised nearly £1,000 for Galop which is a fantastic result!

Tickets for the event sold out well in advance and on the night expectations were high and the mood was rescession-proof as over 60 people packed St Anne’s Hall in Soho to beat the February blues with wine, beer, home-made cakes, popcorn and of course the quiz itself!

The brilliant host, James ‘Biddie’ Biddlecome – dressed resplendantly in white furs and blond bouffant – kept the crowd entertained with his ebullient banter,  songs and droll delivery of the questions, many of which were cleverly themed around money and austerity.

‘A Kiwi & Three Fruits’ beat over 10 other teams to win the top prize of £100-worth of Amazon vouchers, and with some great raffle prizes, like tickets to the cinema and the London eye, the crowd generously turned out their pockets for the great cause.

All the staff at Galop would like to thank everyone who came and supported us so generously.  And with so many requests for a repeat, we may be giving all of you who missed out this time another chance later in the year….watch this space!
